Winningest Coach? What does that mean?

Hi all!
It's been awhile since I posted, taking a break for the holidays.
Welcoming in the NEW YEAR.

However, that didn't last long!

The brazen use of "winningest coach" and the debate there of,

has ripped me from my liberty!

Winningest Coach? What does that mean to you?

I am wondering.

Well, I am doing some research and crunching some facts.

SO, please check back for my analysis, findings,

and most of all my opinion.

I will say this;

I have no doubt what so ever,

where the words "winningest coach"

would fit into my decision on a coach for my child.

Let's just leave it there for now!

Send me your ideas and let's just see where this leads and to what conclusions.

Have you ever met higher rated chess players?

It may seem like they are only interested in the game and less interested in a conversation. However, maybe they just have more going on inside their minds. It seems studies are showing more brain usage by Chess Grandmasters. Proof for schools and parents in seeking the most professional training/coaching for their children.

Expert chess players use twice the brain: Study

A new study has revealed that expert chess players engage both
sides of their brains when plotting their next move.

To evaluate the brain activity in players of differing ability, Merim Bilalic at the University of Tubingen in Germany studied the brains of eight international chess players and eight amateurs.

Using functional magnetic resonance imaging, he found that highly skilled chess players brought both sides of their brains into play — a kind of ‘parallel processing’, reports New Scientist.

Memphis, the recognition and the

I have been contacted by someone about my misuse of English grammar. Whoopee, I didn't do a spell check! To clarify for all.

As you stated you may have, and I quote, "stayed in a Holiday Inn last night" but as usual the whole contexts of the above post was lost on you. If, you come away with the significance of the above information and boil it down to my misuse of some grammar.

Let us see here, exactly how many active playing chess Grandmasters or even International Masters has the greatly over stated Memphis Chess Club brought to Memphis in the past 10 years, not to mention the almost 100 years you state as your length of existence? Or, any other chess faction in the entire Memphis area, for that matter?

NO WONDER MEMPHIS HAS BEEN LACKING IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF SOUND CHESS PLAY PRIOR TO 2001.

Hot off the Memphis Chess Underground.

The latest:

Somewhere around the first of February, there is to be a new "chess center". The source has it, that it will be located at 5796 Shelby Oaks Ste 2, Memphis, TN.

Business License has been taken out by Randi Beatty, in the name of "Greater Memphis Chess Center".


The scoop has it that there will be at least 4 Memphis chess factions operating under the same roof.

I don't know about you, but, I wouldn't be taking any bets on how long any center could last with 4 or more operating in self interest. It is intense enough for one to work and do it right.

GM Yudasin will host a chess "Simultaneous Exhibition" where he will play all challengers at the same time. This is a fantastic and fun event for chess players of all ages. From 1:30 - 2:00 p.m., meet and talk chess with the Grandmaster! Bring your camera for photos and your chess boards and/or books for him to autograph! Then at 2:00 p.m., join him for the Simul, which is expected to last until around 4:00 p.m. On-site registration for this event will be from 1:00-1:45 p.m. that day. The Entry Fee to play is $20 ($5 less for JCC members).

Five rounds will be played with a time control of G/30 (each opponent will have 30 minutes to complete his game). USCF membership may be purchased on site for the rated sections. Trophies awarded to the top three winners in each section. All non-trophy winners will receive a commemorative chess medal.

Round Times: Round one at 10am; other rounds to follow ASAP.

Memphis Chess Club - Woe is me!

It has recently come to my attention that the "Memphis Chess Club" which formerly met at the University of Memphis, has been asked to move to another location due to something about not having club insurance and such. Certain members of the club are running rampant with their allegations as to why this has occured now after they admittedly have been meeting at the Fedex Technology building for a very long time out of compliance with the U of Memphis regulations. Another allegation recently flung about, was how former people from "years ago" with the club were causing the recent events to happen.

1) If they have known that they were out of compliance, then you are guilty of your own misconduct.

2) If former people from "years ago" are accused of being involved, then why wouldn't they have taken action "years ago"?



It is obvious that certain club members feel that they can sling about any such made up stories or allegations and everyone on the planet is suppose to believe it with no further proof or investigation. Well, as usual, let the big mouth(s), know nothing(s) - think they know it all, continue to show just how truly ignorant that they may be, a continued example of how they roll as in "years ago"!

My final advice, is to suck it up, man up, admit the truth - you were out of compliance, you were wrong, stop trying to blame others, and just move on!
