GM Hess is here in Memphis this week for the Tenth annual Mid-South Chess Camp. What an honor to have an opportunity to study with GM Hess and all the others here this week!
Memphis chess players that are not attending this year, you are missing out on this amazing lineup of instructors: GM Alex Stripunsky, GM Robert Hess, WIM Alisa Melehkina, IM Raja Panjwani, and FM Teddy Coleman
Also qualifying in the World Cup is GM Hikaru Nakamura, here earlier this year with Shelby County Chess, Mid-South Chess, and the University of Memphis Chess Club.
FROM THE USCF SITE:
Seven US players have qualified to the World Cup (Khanty-Mansiysk, August 26-September 21) including the top six in the US Chess Championships Gata Kamsky, Yury Shulman, Sam Shankland, Robert Hess, Ray Robson, Alexander Onischuk and World #6 Hikaru Nakamura. Although the United States only receives five spots from the US Champs, designated as a Zonal Championship, both Nakamura and Kamsky made the cut on rating.
